Kangaroos?
Lifted the following ornamental letter from a very cool website entitled BibliOdyssey, which claims that it's "by Napoléon Landais from either his 'Dictionnaire Général et Grammatical des Dictionnaires Français' (1834) or his 'Petit Dictionnaire Français Portatif' (1840)"
[are those kangaroos taking shelter underneath the "K"?]

K's in Crosswords
Here are two of my favorite grids from recent years - both K-related. The first (by Patrick Merrell) has the answer 10K RACES, but all ten K's are written out, creating the only puzzle I know of with 10 consecutive K's in it:
What's more awesome is that the grid contains a whopping 8 additional K's, bringing the grand total to 18, which must be some kind of record. The next grid is more modest, but still K-tastic. It's by "K"evin Der. I like that it has 11 K's, and that "K" is the 11th letter of the alphabet. Coincidence? Actually, I'm not sure. Kevin tends to know what he's doing:

"K" - the beginning
This blog is dedicated to the letter "K" - specifically, it is dedicated to documenting the letter in its glorious and seemingly infinite incarnations, from ballparks to billboards, from medieval manuscripts and fine art to wacky modern business names (e.g. "Kwik Kakes" - the defunct Fresno store that triggered my current obsession with the letter). No matter where the "K" is from, whether it's with other "K"s or alone, I will hunt that letter down and pin it here.
Please feel free to share your "K" experiences with me. If possible, snap some shots of "K"s in the wild. If ever a letter deserved to have its experience documented, that letter is "K." Let's make it happen.
For the love of K,
Rex Parker
